Character Matters at Cornell Village!
Every month a character trait is chosen at Cornell as a focus for our students to understand, reflect on and practice. One student is chosen from each class every month that displayed the trait well.
September
Respect
We respect ourselves and treat others with courtesy, dignity, and positive regard. We honour the rights of others. We respect their belongings, the environment and the world around us.
Congratulations to Angelique and Leif who showed respect for their teachers, friends and classroom in September! Way to go!

Responsibility
We are accountable for all our actions. We follow through on our commitments.
Congratulations to Michael and Henry for demonstrating responsibility in all that they do!

Honesty
We behave in a sincere, trustworthy, and truthful manner.

Empathy December
We strive to sense and appreciate the emotions of others, to "stand in their shoes." We demonstrate appreciation of and concern for their feelings. We try to understand issues from their perspectives even though we may not agree with them personally.
Congratulations to Zoe and Ciara for showing empathy in the classroom and on the playground.
